New Fire Legislation came into force in October 2006 and replaced over 70 pieces of fire safety law. Companies are required to carry out their own risk assessment to ensure they are compliant with the regulations and to ensure that all staff receive adequate training.
Each year, many people suffer burns caused by uncontrollable ignition of substances they work with and the purpose of this course is to raise awareness of key information to help to reduce the risks associated with fire and to ensure all employees are aware of procedures and potential workplace hazards.
In this short course, we will explore the following:
- Regulatory Reform
- How fires start
- The fire triangle
- The statutory requirements for fire prevention
- Workplace procedures for fire precautions
- Fire fighting equipment
- Means of escape
- Planning for an emergency and PEEPs
