This Level 2 - CPD accredited course is the first of four courses in Red Rock Training's suite of Dementia titles.
After introducing the term ‘dementia’, the course provides an explanation of the various types and causes of dementia and goes on to help individuals gain an understanding of certain functions of the brain and how these link to emotions and behaviours.
It is suitable both for professionals working within a healthcare environment and those who wish to better understand what a family member or loved one may be experiencing and covers the following topics:
We are acutely aware that this is an emotive subject for a lot of people who may be looking after people with a form of dementia and we hope that it promotes an improved understanding of the various aspects of the condition and the potential effects different forms of dementia have on people and the reasons why.
We also hope that this information will help those looking after people with a form of dementia by re-enforcing existing thought processes and good practice or possibly helping to generate some new ideas that could be useful.
