This course offers information about the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) to those individuals who use and store data in their working roles. Led by those responsible officers, this course will help individuals to understand what they need to do and where appropriate, where this fits in with organisational requirements/expectations under the General Data Protection Regulation.
Whilst Brexit may pose questions, the implementation in 2018 of the GDPR requires organisations to meet ongoing regulation change and whilst some existing UK Data Protection Act guidelines remain, key differences need to be understood and implemented moving forward by practitioners. Any subsequent changes to legislation also need to be considered, such as the Data Protection Act changes in 2018, which should be read alongside GDPR guidelines.
As a result, this course covers the following:
- Introduction to the GDPR
- Data Protection Act
- The Rights of Data Subjects
- Preparing for the GDPR
- The Accountability Principle
- Data Protection Officers
